Marvelous Latali tour is mixture of light hiking, amazing cultural heritage of Svaneti, cooking masterclass, and gold looking. We offer to spend one day in the marvelous Latali community, village Lakhushdi, to feel old, real Svaneti.
The tour starts in the morning. After a short drive from Mestia, we will approach the village of Lakhushdi, our fantastic hosts, at Eco house Svaneti.
First, we will have a short hike, for less than two hours, to the wonderful church Tangili, dated to the XI century. The church is located on the hill, hidden in the forest, above Lakhushdi. So, on the way, we will enjoy amazing views and beautiful nature.
After returning from the hike, the hosts will offer us tea and a light lunch. We will meet people who are looking for gold in the river Enguri. They will take us down to the river and show us old ways of looking for gold, which are also used now. Tourists will be able to participate.
After this, we will return to the guesthouse, where our wonderful host will teach how to make traditional Svan dishes – Kubdari, Khachapuri, Chishvdari, and Tashmujab. After the cooking class will be dinner. Optionally possible to invite singers from the village, and learn the Svan folk.
After a wonderful dinner, our Latali tour will finish and we will return to Mestia. In case of booking is possible to stay at Eco house Svaneti.
Depending on the season will be possible to participate in different agricultural activities.
